Summer Update

1407_NS03Yesterday, I returned from Nova Scotia where I had a great time with family and friends. It was an excellent vacation with special highlights like an excursion to PEI, swimming and tubing, and a lot of fiddling.

The second day I was there, I was at a ceremony as one of three youth selected for an accomplished youth award in the region of Brookfield and Stewiacke. There I was interviewed by local reporter Lyle Carter and even got to play a few tunes! (Photo above: me with Lyle)

In Nova Scotia we have many kitchen parties and Caleighs. My cousin Megan and my uncle Bruce are both multi-instrumentalists so we had quite the hoedown on their deck! It is always fun to jam with such talented musicians. (Photo below)

Sadly, the trip to Nova Scotia had to end but I am pleased the summer has not concluded! The weekend of August 9&10 is Almonteā€™s puppet festival which I will be playing at. In a few weeks there is the Grand Masters Fiddle Camp and then the Pembroke Fiddle and Step Dance Competition. So, there is still more awesome fiddling to do this summer!
