On Sunday March 1st I had a wonderful time playing in Arnprior at the 13th annual Fiddlin’ Fiesta – a traditional fiddling show that features Ottawa Valley performers.
I had the privilege to share the stage with Peter Dawson and Kimberley Holmes and a number of great musicians. I enjoyed having tremendous back-up piano played by Ottawa’s Sherryl Fitzpatrick. It was a lot of fun and I thank Dennis Harrington for the opportunity to play.
My set included a few audience favourites: Tennessee Waltz, Danny Boy and Ward Allen’s Maple Sugar. I also got to play my favourite tune these days – the up-tempo Willow Spring. Again, it was great to have such terrific back up with both Sherryl and Kimberley playing with me (both in photos below). The show ended with all fiddlers taking the stage for a great jam session (photo below is of me playing beside Peter Dawson). Many thanks to all for a super time – an afternoon I will not forget!
