This past week I had a great time at the Grand Masters Fiddle Camp in Manotick, Ottawa. There I had the honor of taking classes from Andre Brunet, an excellent fiddler from Quebec. In his class we learned many traditional French tunes and even a jig form Sweden!
I also had the honor of taking classes from Patti Kustorok-Lamouroux, Mark Sullivan, Calvin Vollrath, Kelli Trottier, Gordon Stobbe, and Louis Schreyer. In these classes I learned great tunes, techniques, and tips!
Aside from the instruction, I had fun jamming and hanging out with fiddlers of all ages. To top off every camp day there were performances from our talented instructors. On the last evening, I got to perform with Andre’s class at the student-teacher concert (photo above). I had a great week and now have many new things to work on!
