Yesterday, I performed a Palm Sunday matinee at The Palisades, an Ottawa seniors residence. Accompanying me was my friend and a great pianist Anthony Vial.
It was very special for me to be again playing at the Palisades, as this is where my grandmother lives. Through the years, I have played many times here for Papou and Yaya (grandfather and grandmother in Greek). Many of the residents can remember me with my fiddle 4-5 years ago!
I enjoy playing for seniors as they really like the old time fiddle tunes. I like including in the set list some golden favourites such as Tennessee Waltz, St Anne’s Reel, and Smile A While. I always look forward to entertaining at residences.
