This past weekend, I had a great deal of fun playing at the Fortune Family Farm, helping celebrate Maple Weekend in Lanark County. I got to play close to where the Kettle Boys were making maple syrup in large cauldrons over an open fire. I played old-time tunes like Pat’s Country, Tennessee Waltz and Maple Sugar!
I’d like to say thanks to Ray Fortune, who gave me the opportunity of playing two sets on Saturday. I had a great time playing with my Mom who accompanied me on the piano during those two shows.
Here are some links about the fun to be had in the maple bushes of Almonte and throughout maple sugar country. Click here for information on Fortune Farms. And here is an informative website on all the activities on this past Maple Weekend in Lanark County. If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next April in the sugar bush!
